Ode to Spare

Oh cap'n' my captain,
Thanks a whole heap,
For the courage you gave me'
The courage I'll keep.

This year was a blast,
In your poetry class.
You helped me bring out
"The Poet Inside of Me."

I learned how poetry,
Can become so bad.
And how even happy things,
When you think, become sad.

I know that some day,
I will look back.
And remember the guy,
That said "Do your own thing".

I can't thank you enough,
For this wonderful year.
But I dedicate this poem,
To you Mr. Spare

This book is a book,
Like no other book.
In it are poems,
That all have a hook.

This book is full,
Of wonderful words.
None of which,
Are cut into thirds.

I can write and write,
About this book all day.
But that wont do it justice,
So sit back and enjoy,
